Audi A3 TDI Clubsport Quattro: Another diesel spectacle
June 24, 2008
The new Audi A3 TDI Clubsport Quattro is the latest spectacular Diesel addition from Ingolstadt and features the highest specific output diesel engine available..
With its 1968cc motor featuring an additional turbo-charger, it produces a 221 BHP and a torque of 332 Lb ft. @ 1750 rpm. To complete its sport package, a manual six speed gearbox is present.
All this gives this sporty hatch figures like, 0-62 in 6.6 seconds and max speed of 149 mph. When it comes to looks, it sure gives the vibe of a tuner car with DTM racing inspired rear spoiler and 20 inch wheels.
The Clubsport Quattro is 36mm lower than the regular A3, it also features a wider grille in the front and the back. Inside the sporty Bavarian borrows looks from the elder brother Audi R8 V12 TDI with its bucket seats, aluminum trims, toggle switches, red starter buttons and flat bottom steering wheel, which is not so surprisingly.
The Audi A3 TDI Clubsport Quattro also comes with Audi Drive Select, which lets you adjust throttle response, power steering assistance, magnetic ride suspension system and most important of all the exhaust sound for those Saturday night street rides.
