Supermarket to offer electric car charging ports
June 26, 2008
Aeon Co., leading supermarket chain in Japan, is reportedly thinking of setting up electric car charging ports in their supermarkets. Of course, this project will be in conjunction with car companies - just in time for the coming release of Fuji Heavy’s Subaru R1e and the iMiev of Mitsubishi this 2009.
Current electric cars take up to 14 hours of full charging but Aeon plans to create a charging port that can charge electric cars within an hour. The supermarket will install a trial port at the Laketown Mall in Koshigaya. If it becomes successful, then Aeon may finally push through with this ‘green’ and smart plan officially.
