German stoplights detected by car sensors
July 31, 2008
Stoplights in Germany can now be detected by cars equipped with stoplight sensors. Audi has recently partnered with the local governments in Bavaria and installed sensors on almost 50 test stoplights.
The sensors are said to be detected by cars, telling the drivers to drive fast to catch a green light or when a stoplight is near.
Currently being tested in Ingolstadt, Germany, the driver alert is just one of the many features of the programo. The program is also expected to lead to less gas used, less pollution, and then less money spent for the drivers.
This seems to be a smart program. Now, if only more streets and cars would have such programs then the world could become a better place.
