Well, the Honda Civic is NOT the most selling vehicle made by Honda. The Honda Super Cub motorcycle is the most sold vehicle in the world. It is not as well known as a Honda CBR in the west, but it sure is in the east. The Super Cub is a 49CC based motorcycle designed by Soichiro Honda. Its flawless design has lasted for 50 years, which dominated the Japan’s motorcycle industry.
It gave the nice guy image to motorcycles; its Ad campaign said “You meet the Nicest People on a Honda”. It has a Two-Stroke Engine and later was added to the list were big tires and clutch free operation which makes it a smooth ride.
Well, talking about the numbers, the Super Cub sold 60 million units. An considering recent gas price hikes , this could be a great vehicle for the U.S. and other western countries as well: Ther Super Cub gives 150 MPG and a new one goes for only $1,400.
The sad part is that Honda stopped selling these in America in the 1980s. Well, it is not the most beautiful looking thing in the Motor industry, but that’s not what you look for when you go cheap and basic. It is totally made for functionality and that the beauty of it.
