DeLuxe car maker Rolls-Royce: Manufacturing Workforce increased by 50 percent

Crisis, what Crisis? Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is planning to increase its manufacturing workforce by 50 per cent. More than 150 new jobs have been created to support the production of the company?s new model, the Rolls-Royce Ghost. By the end of 2009 Rolls?Royce will have created almost 400 new jobs in under two years, bringing the total number of employees based at Goodwood, West Sussex to 900.

[HotGreenWheels] Renault’s new plug-in Kangoo be bop Z.E.

Here comes the new Renault Kangoo be bop Z.E. plug-in prototype. While the technology inside (Lithium Ion batteries with a 100-mile range and 30 minute recharge to 80% capacity — or full charge in 20 minutes using a proposed 400V universal standard plug) is very similar to the vehicles that Renault expects to release on the road in 2011, and its appearance matches that of the Kangoo be bop hitting European roads this spring, it’s the design detail that captured our attention.

Japan’s greenest cars: Toyota Prius and Daihatsu Mira

Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism just released a top ten list of the most fuel-efficient cars sold last year in Japan. Toyota’s Prius is No. 1 in the standard and small-sized vehicle category whereas the Daihatsu Mira tops the light vehicle segment (vehicles with automatic transmissions only).
