German stoplights detected by car sensors

Stoplights in Germany can now be detected by cars equipped with stoplight sensors. Audi has recently partnered with the local governments in Bavaria and installed sensors on almost 50 test stoplights.

Knight Rider-theme GPS system featuring William Daniel’s voice

Mio Technology recently came out with a Knight Rider-theme GPS device. It used to be a rumor, but Crave just reported that it’s official. However, no word on the full details, pricing, and the availability were given.

This $289 GPS-device will feature William Daniel’s voice as previously reported. It will also feature a name database and flashing LEDs.

Car safety: Vauxhall camera system can recognize speed limit signs

A new camera system will be soon installed by Vauxhall, the British brand of GM, to their cars so that can recognize road signs. The still photographs captured by the camera will then be displayed in the car’s dash display.

Seamless integration: iPhone 3G dock for Mercedes introduced

mercedes-iphoneMercedes Benz has introduced a new cradle for the iPhone. The phone cradle is available for the Mercedes Benz C-, E-, CLK-, CLS-, S-, CL-, SL-, M- , R-, and GLK- Class models.

According to the Stuttgart, Germany-based car maker, the iPhone cradle allows seamless integration between the iPhone’s music and phone functions with the Benz’s dashboard tech infrastructure.
