We don’t know the correlation between small cars and Smartness and IQs, but it sure is the part of the current trend. Toyota the Japanese Car Giant has made the IQ which is set to rival the Smart For Two from Germany. The car is almost three meters long a little more than the Smart. In this extra space it has back seats and boot. But if you are a tall driver there is no legroom but you should not buy the car in the first place if Space is the first thing on your mind.

Ford is currently working on a next generation engine technology that is meant to improve engine power and reduce emissions at the same time. This project is named Bobcat. It is working on a technology that uses direct injection of Ethanol. It is said a ethanol engine due to its average octane rating of 113 is able to give high performance at high compression ratios of engine.

When other sports cars are moving towards carbon-fiber, this one is moving towards resin, in one simple word “Hemp”. Lotus will display this car at the London Motor Show, made of only eco friendly materials.
It is Lotus plan in near future to make cars with a resin that can be totally recycled. This car is made of Hemp and Sisal, the hemp is grown at Hethel, Norfolk Plant, which is mixed with resin to form the seats and the hardtop. Biodegradable wool is used for the seat covers and Sisal in the carpets.

In times where a gallon of gas costs $4, driving a car may not exactly be practical. More so, getting a new car like the Hybrid Prius, a supposedly ‘green’ car. It sure is eco-friendly but the price isn’t too friendly for the pocket.
A Toyota Prius now may cost $27,000 as compared to the $24,000 selling price last year. Why? Shouldn’t car prices go down now that the gas price just zooms high almost every week? It seems there must be a new supply and demand curve in the market. Since a Prius is ecological and supposedly require less gas money.

Oil price hikes all over the world are slowly crushing my dreams to get a car soon. Not that I have really decided to get one, but I just think it’s far from impossible now. It’s much more practical to commute, join a carpool, ride the train, or heck…a bike.
I truly believe it’s about time that you bring out your old, rusty bike from the garage. Smart designer are on the same page developing futuristic transport concepts such as the here shown Electric Bike Train.

Subaru will be releasing a bigger electric car in the form of the Stella, a 4-seater green car that uses lithium ion batteries to power a 40-kilowatt electric motor.With the Stella’s motor, the car can run a range of 50 miles with a maximum speed of 62 mph.

Aeon Co., leading supermarket chain in Japan, is reportedly thinking of setting up electric car charging ports in their supermarkets. Of course, this project will be in conjunction with car companies - just in time for the coming release of Fuji Heavy’s Subaru R1e and the iMiev of Mitsubishi this 2009.
